Founded in 1995, Jackson Financial Management is a privately-held, independent registered investment advisory (RIA) firm located in beautiful Orange County (Costa Mesa), California. We specialize in providing comprehensive financial planning and customized global investment management services to financially successful individuals, families and business owners across Southern California and nationwide.

Our well-educated and experienced advisory & investment team includes Certified Financial PlannerTM professionals (CFP®), a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®), a Master of Science with an emphasis in Financial Planning (MS), and a formerly practicing attorney with a Master of Laws in Taxation (LLM).

We manage in excess of $470 million of discretionary investment assets for approximately 471 families. We use Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. as the primary independent third-party custodian for the investment assets we manage on behalf of our clients.

Tracy O. Jackson, MS, CFP®

President & Principal

 

Tracy O. Jackson is the President and a Principal of Jackson Financial Management, which he established in 1995. He has served as an advisor to a select number of high net worth families and business owners since 1987.

Tracy is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) practitioner and holds a Master of Science degree with an Emphasis in Financial Planning from the College for Financial Planning, where he graduated with honors. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University at Fullerton.

Tracy’s vast experience in financial services spans four decades. Before establishing Jackson Financial Management in 1995, he served as a principal partner to a financial planning practice he co-founded (Advantage Financial Advisory Group) where he was responsible for specialized and technical planning for high net worth individuals and small to medium-sized businesses. He also created a micro-based accounting consulting company (Traco Consulting), and served as a senior financial planner at IDS Financial Services (an American Express company).

He is a long-time member of the Financial Planning Association.

Tracy is a native of Southern California and lives in Orange with his wife, Mary Sue, and their two children, Sierra and Evan.

James A. Shanton, CFP®

Principal

 

James A. Shanton is a Principal at Jackson Financial Management, which he joined in 1998. He serves as a financial advisor to high net worth families and business owners.

Jim is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) practitioner and earned his Personal Financial Planning certificate from the Extension Program at the University of California at Irvine. Jim received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (with a concentration in Finance) from California State University at Fullerton.

Jim began his career in financial services in 1995 by providing computer and financial planning services while maintaining his position as a sales analyst and technical support specialist at Automatic Data Processing (ADP). Jim joined Jackson Financial Management full-time in January 1998.

Jim currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Capistrano Valley Christian School and PCE Premier Christian Education Group.

Jim and his wife, Kathy, live in Aliso Viejo, where they have raised their two children, Taylor and Emily. He and his family are active members of Saddleback Church.

Christopher J. Rogers, CFA®

Chief Investment Officer & Principal

 

Christopher J. Rogers is the Chief Investment Officer and a Principal at Jackson Financial Management, which he joined in 2005. Chris is responsible for developing and implementing the overall investment strategy for our clients’ portfolios. Chris has been a Chartered Financial Analyst® since 1999. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Washington.

Chris began working in the financial services industry in 1981 when he started designing software that tracked gold sales and inventory for Security Pacific Bank. His over thirty years of experience includes systems analysis & design, sales & marketing, accounting, operations, and investment management.

Chris spent nearly five years with Pacific Life Insurance Company and was part of the initial team selected to construct a major effort to build their annuity business unit.

After helping a longtime friend establish an investment management and financial planning business, Chris joined First American Trust Company, where he was in charge of all trust company investments. In such capacity, he led a team managing more than $1 billion in investment assets including portfolios for individuals, the trust company itself and reserves for the parent company – First American Corporation. During his tenure, he worked directly for the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Donald P. Kennedy, to conduct a significant restructuring of corporate wide investment operations.

Chris serves as an arbitrator for FINRA and is a member of the CFA® Society of Los Angeles.

Rudy E. Brandes is a Financial Advisor at Jackson Financial Management, which he joined in 2015. He has been in the financial services industry since 2011.

Rudy is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) practitioner, and earned a Master of Laws in Taxation degree from the New York University School of Law (Executive Program). He also obtained a Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School (Cum Laude), and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (Cum Laude), where he graduated with college honors.

Rudy strives to leverage his tax and consulting experience to suggest creative and practical financial planning solutions for business succession, retirement, charitable and estate planning scenarios.

Rudy previously worked at both Transamerica Life Insurance Company and Pacific Life Insurance Company as a consultant where he mainly helped educate advisors, attorneys & accountants throughout the United States on advanced planning strategies. He also formally practiced as an attorney handling bankruptcy, insurance, securities and taxation issues.

Rudy is a native of Southern California and lives in Irvine with his wife, Mara, and their two sons.

Joanna Hsu, RP®

Sr. Financial Planning Assistant & Paraplanner

 

Joanna J. Hsu is a Senior Financial Planning Assistant and Paraplanner at Jackson Financial Management, which she joined in 2010. She is responsible for preparing financial plans and financial reviews for our clients. Joanna started her career at Jackson Financial Management as an administrative assistant and has rapidly increased her responsibilities to include client service and financial planning.

Joanna was born and raised in Orange County and currently resides in Aliso Viejo.

 

 

Pamela Brown

Client Service Associate

 

Pamela Brown has served as a Client Service Associate at Jackson Financial Management (JFM) since February 1999. Pam provides operational support to JFM’s Financial Advisors, and works closely with the firm’s clients.

Pam oversees the administration of Retirement Plans and coordinates activities between financial advisors, plan sponsors, record-keepers, and participants. She also helps coordinate charitable donations made by our clients throughout the year. Pam has served as a Notary Public since she started with the firm.

Prior to working at JFM, Pam was self-employed as a Manicure Technician for 13 years and also worked in the Property Management field for 6 years, serving as an Assistant Manager on several apartment complexes.

Pam resides in Riverside County and enjoys spending time with her daughter, baking and working on craft projects. They attend comic conventions such as Comic-Con and Doctor Who Con. She also loves crafts, which includes jewelry making and sewing.

 

Jasmine

Client Service Associate

 

Jasmine serves as a Client Service Associate at Jackson Financial Management, which she joined in 2004. She helps manage administration matters including onboarding new clients the scheduling client meetings. She has a bachelor's degree in public relations.

 

Martha Kilfoy

Client Service Assistant

 

Martha Kilfoy serves as a Client Service Assistant at Jackson Financial Management, which she joined in 2006. She keeps our team & office organized and assists the client service & advisory teams on special projects.

Martha and her husband, Leo, live in Foothill Ranch, where they have raised their 3 children. She is a native of Southern California and enjoys hiking, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family.

Roxanne Konieczka

Roxanne serves as a Client Service Assistant at Jackson Financial Management, which she joined in 2013.

Roxanne has worked in the financial & insurance industries for over 19 years. Prior to joining JFM, Roxanne served as an administrative assistant to a financial advisor in Huntington Beach for 7 years. Prior to that, she worked as a project coordinator for an enrollment company and as an administrative assistant to insurance advisors at a large insurance company.

Roxanne and her husband have been married for over 15 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband and disabled niece, traveling, attending sporting events (including Indy races), and volunteering with organizations such as Operation Gratitude and the Community Emergency Response Team.

 

Caleb Rodriguez

Investment Associate

 

Caleb Rodriguez is an Investment Associate at Jackson Financial Management. Caleb is responsible for supporting the functions of the Investment Department, including cash management, portfolio rebalancing and investment research.

Caleb graduated from San Diego State University in 2013 with a degree in Quantitative Economics, and shortly afterward began his career in financial services – handling various assignments at investment management firms. The combination of his education and work experience make him a valuable member of the JFM investment team.

Caleb is a native of Southern California and lives in Irvine with his wife, Jessica.
